A Family’s European Heritage

Located north of Durango, Colorado in the private estates of The Glacier Club, an elegant golfing community, this 5,300 square foot retreat melds the family’s European heritage, particularly Scotland and its golf heritage, with western American art and culture.

The owner’s vision for high elevation living focused on comfort, custom artistry and authenticity in materials, with an emphasis on indoor-outdoor living. Unexpected and hidden complexity was a notable feat throughout the home. Hand hewn timbers, four- ton solid stone mantels, and blind ( hidden) structural elements all came together in this freshly unique and flowing floor plan that offers privacy to all spaces and suites at the same time. Slate roofs, copper gutter systems, private bedroom suite terraces and heated patios and driveways all provide a safe and lasting exterior as well.
